Every firefighter wears more than a uniform, they carry the legacy of those who came before them.
For more than five decades, members of the Progressive Fire Fighters Association of Washington DC have served their communities with courage, professionalism, and commitment. Along the way, generations of firefighters have opened doors, broken barriers, mentored future leaders, and strengthened the profession through service.
That legacy is not simply found in history books or photographs. It lives in every firefighter who chooses to mentor a new recruit, volunteer in the community, advocate for fairness, or answer the call to serve.
As PFFADC enters its next chapter, we honor that legacy by preparing today's firefighters to become tomorrow's leaders. Our future will be built on the same values that have guided this organization since 1968: service, leadership, innovation, and community.
Legacy is not only what we inherit - it is what we choose to leave behind.
